As many may have seen the Fusion is now here. This system is thinking outside the box like never before for an off grid biomass gasifier system.
The Fusion is now our focus of development. The Flex units are the end of our 8 year development process and we will no longer develop this system further other than very minor improvements. The Flex reactor technology has fully peaked. More on that on another thread.
Ok so what is the most difficult part of off grid gasifier power systems? Ill tell you, it is sourcing and fuel processing. We started out building chip fuel machines, Ill be very blunt here. This is a ton of work!! Using a small chipping machine and by the time I sorted the fuel, I had about 50% waste of un usable fuel. By the time I had sorted the fuel I generally only had about 80 lbs or less in an hours of work that was engine grade usable and it still needed to be dried yet. Then I thought well I could just go and buy 80 lbs of pellets for less than 8 bucks!! So my labor to produce 80 lbs of chips was only 8 bucks? Yeah my time is worth a lot more than that. I wont do it and I cant expect my customers to do it. This ended chip fuel development. I moved on to pellet fuels and ultimately developed our pellet fuel reactor. But now you have to buy the fuel or make pellets. So I started to look deep into charcoal gasification. My first impression is wow you burn all that energy off to create a handful a fuel. What a waste!! But then you start to really analyse this and its really not all what it seems. When you chip fuel, you are putting energy in to run that chipper. you will then have a great deal of waste that can not be used. So you wasted energy to run the chipper to produce fuel you can not use. That waste also has energy that is also being tossed out. When you factor this in along with energy to dry the fuel the gap closes. Then you look at physical process differences to process fuel for charcoal verses chip fuels. It becomes clear charcoal is by far more viable and easier.
Then a thought, why not build a stove a system that can produce your charcoal for free? Thats exactly what we are developing. The Fusion Stove technologies, will work just like ordinary stoves but yield a daily allowance of charcoal to run in the Fusion gasifier module. If you already process fire wood then this is all you need to do to produce fuel for your gasifier. The stove will produce charcoal for you, other than screening out the fine dust this is all the processing you need. It simply can not get any easier than this and since it is a charcoal system; it will run clean with out tar production, run much more stable and all with less equipment cost and maintenance other systems require. No chipping machine, no massive filtering systems, no engine stalling or premature failure do to dirty soots and tars getting into your engine.
